Increased ticket and hotel prices have paid off for The Walt Disney Co., which attributed much of its financial success in the just-ended quarter to its theme park business.

The company's feature-film and home-video operations also helped boost the bottom line, with profit coming in significantly above analyst expectations.

Disney reported Wednesday a profit of $1.13 billion, 53 cents a share, in the fiscal third quarter ended July 1, compared with profit of $811 million, 39 cents a share, in the same period last year. Quarterly revenue rose 12 percent to $8.62 billion from $7.72 billion last year.
