ORLANDO, Fla. — Walt Disney World, which bills itself as one of the happiest and most magical places anywhere, also may be one of the most closely watched and secure. The nation's most popular tourist attraction is beginning to scan your fingerprint information.

Your taste buds will be as happy as if they'd won the lottery --with a big jackpot of exotic flavors. At Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival, you can start by sampling pastas in the Italy area, empanadas in the Argentine marketplace and churros in Mexico for lunch. Then savory couscous in the Turkey marketplace, a bit of Irish stew in the Ireland kiosk, and maybe crème brulée in France for dinner -and you can wash it all down with a German beer or a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley, among other choices.

In summer, Orlando isn't everyone's idea of the magic kingdom. Temperatures flirt with triple digits daily, and Floridians join the crowds that flock from all over the world to fill the theme parks to capacity.

As the year comes to an end, the fun is just beginning at Walt Disney World Resort. The vacation kingdom offers guests a new Disney celebration, an impressive lineup of special events, and even a little something extra - a special package for guests visiting most nights Oct. 1 through Dec. 23, 2006.
